Opportunity
Given the rare chance to build on a lot on historic Orient Avenue overlooking Cooper Park, the Astral Weeks team sought to develop a residential building that took advantage of the view while respecting the context – century old row houses and apartment buildings on a sycamore lined street.

Design Solution
Given the timing of construction, Williamsburg was to be flooded with new rental product, so the team had to develop a product that would differentiate itself from the competition.
Large windows and slider doors with Juliet balconies fill each apartment with light, bringing the outdoors in, while traditional masonry construction and steel accents blend the building into the surrounding neighborhood.
The two walk-up buildings feature a furnished roof terrace, bike room, private storage, and washer/dryers in each unit, not to mention Cooper Park across the street.

Result
Upon coming to market, the project leased up very quickly in a competitive market, a testament to the efforts the team made to deliver a special product.
